Weave
The world was born with weaving. In the beginning, nothing material existed. The parents imagined the world, but none dared to solidify it into matter. Abu Monsa, a creative mother, knew of a very rebellious, sometimes furious, child who could wound anyone who approached her. She was like a thorny plant, strong and unyielding.
Abu Monsa knew she held something important within her. Speaking to her in a gentle voice, he knew that this girl carried the threads that could sustain the material world. Thus, Abu Monsa met "Bi," the mother of the fique plant, who taught him about her strength, her spiritual resilience, and her ability to become matter. Now, possessing the essence of matter, Abu Monsa pondered what to do with it.
One night she thought and thought, remembered and visualized, and thus she understood that the material world must be like, coming and going, remembering and doing, thinking and weaving. She knew that "Bi," the fique plant, was rebellious and had thorns; she knew that she had to spin it and move it, drawing out its essence without harming it or herself, bringing out the best in both to walk through the world.
This is how the world was born, and this is how Kogi and Wiwa women have woven ever since, creating the world in an effort to neither harm nor be harmed, neither in thought nor in matter. They are born and raised with this principle of life: to weave in order to live, to think in order not to harm…
